Lionel # 14082 Pedestrian Walkover

The Lionel # 14082 Pedestrian Walkover serves two purposes. The first is to get pedestrians on the layout safely across the tracks. The second purpose is to record scale speeds of passing trains. It accomplishes this second purpose with two built-in sensors. The first sensor starts a computation as the train passes in front of it. When the train reaches the second sensor, speed is computed and transmitted to a display near the layout control panel. It's interesting to see how fast or slow a train can go on the layout.
