Toy Train Maintenance & Repair

This is the train maintenance, repair and testing area. Train equipment testing is accomplished with a postwar Lionel No. 5F test set. This set was first made available to Lionel authorized service stations in 1962. There are Super O and HO test tracks on top of the set. The set has a built-in AC transformer to check three-rail trains and a DC power pack for two-rail trains. I use the DC output to troubleshoot Kusan O-gauge two-rail trains. In front of the test set is a red Lionel ST-350 rivet press and tools. On the far right is a prewar Lionel 150-watt V transformer, which powers the third level track.
