I wanted to create a winter scene at one end of the layout since many people associate toy trains with winter time. I used "Soft-Sno" for the snow, which is a cotton-like material that came in one inch thick layers and was easy to work with. The operator in the little house next to the prewar Lionel # 313 Bascule Bridge keeps a sharp lookout for approaching vessels on the aluminum foil river. Photo taken January 2007.
