Lionel train collectors will often seek out non-train Lionel items to display in their train rooms. This is a prewar Lionel # 455 Electric Range made in the early 1930's. It has a working oven and two burners. The range also has the original Lionel cookware, which includes a muffin tin, frying pan, pot and lid, tea kettle and a wooden potato masher. Underneath the stove is a case containing a Lionel # 454 Construction Kit. The kit was made by Lionel to compete with Gilbert's famed erector sets. The Lionel kit was not as successful as Gilbert's.
