The final two west coast layout photos are from my last apartment. It was a two bedroom unit, so I had one room for the trains. This was my best effort to date. It was an "L" shape layout crammed with almost every accessory I had at the time -- and they all were operational! This layout is where I discovered the "mirror effect." In the photo, you can see the end of the layout was propped up with a dresser that had a mirror. It was neat seeing the trains moving in the mirror and making the layout appear almost twice as big. It impressed me so much that I had a special mirror made for my current layout. An inexpensive bookcase was used for train storage.
