Lionel Train Layout - Page 1 of 4

I've been building, improving and operating my Lionel train layout for over 25 years. Having 320 square feet of space to work with, I designed a u-shaped layout in the center of the room with a control panel inside the "u." This design was chosen because I wanted to be able to walk around the layout to get as many views as possible. This also makes it easier to work on, as all parts of the layout are accessible. I have a viewable Track Plan for my layout.

My layout includes four track loops, a trolley line and monorail. Two of the track loops parallel each other on the first level. The first level outer loop has O31 curves and the inner loop O27. The second level track has O27 curves and the third level O72 curves. There are seven bridges and a number of operating and non-operating accessories, many of which can be seen in the photos below and pages that follow. There are enough lights on the layout to illuminate it at night with the room lights off.
